Electronic Cigarettes and Health Discusses Health Risks of Electric Cigarettes
(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 30, 2011 ) Burr Ridge, IL -- The website electronic cigarettes and Health ( has published the health risks and positives of the Electric Vapor Cigarettes also known as Electronic Cigarettes.

The publication on called electronic cigarette health risks combines already available data from authoritative views and publications by experienced people working in the tobacco industry such as the FDA, medical professionals and university professors. From the onset, the webmasters have made it clear that the publication is not their original creation but merely a collection of excerpts taken from what has already been published by credible parties. However they indicate that opinions on electronic cigarettes and associated health risks are rather mixed with no clear verdict yet. They advise though that common sense should always provide a clear idea for any one seeking to determine if electronic cigarettes are better than ordinary cigarettes. They clarify that the main debate is whether electronic cigarettes are less harmful than tobacco cigarettes and how they compare to conventional cigarette replacement therapies (NRT).

Among the excerpts is one taken from the American Association of Public Health Physicians (AAPHP) which says that electric cigarette smokers could reduce their risk of future tobacco-related death by 98% or higher by switching to low risk smokeless tobacco products such as e-cigars. Another except from the abstract of a scientific journal says that e-cigarettes have been successful in helping people to quit smoking even in instances where the individuals tried in the past through other methods and failed, while an excerpt from a Lung Health study points to the fact that purified nicotine as found in electronic cigarettes and NRTs cannot cause cancer.

On the negatives, the publication has detailed the content and reactions to a press release published by the FDA in July 2009. In the press release, the FDA said that laboratory analysis showed that electronic cigarettes contain carcinogens and certain toxic chemicals including diethylene glycol, which is an ingredient used in antifreeze. Accompanying the FDA press release excerpt are 29 responses most of which argue that the carcinogens reported by the FDA are apparently present in larger amounts in some products which the FDA has already approved.

About Electronic Cigarettes and Health:

Electronics Cigarettes and Health is a website that publishes information on electronic cigarettes including their risks and benefits. It seeks to guide those people who may want to shift from conventional smoking; by providing information that will possibly help them make good decisions.
